Google incorporates Veo 2 video generation into Gemini Advanced.

Starting today, advanced users of Gemini can begin using Google's chatbot to create videos.

Google has decided to expand access to its video generation model, Veo 2, which had been in a limited preview phase for four months. Now, the company is beginning to offer this tool to advanced users of Gemini, who will be able to create video clips in 720p quality with a maximum duration of eight seconds. According to Google, "the more detailed your description, the more control you will have over the final video."

For the moment, Gemini will only produce content in a horizontal 16:9 format, which may limit its use for videos intended for social media. However, Google points out that users will be able to upload the videos directly to platforms like TikTok or YouTube through Gemini's sharing option, and all generated clips will be automatically saved in MP4 format. Compared to previous versions, Google assures that Veo 2 has an improved understanding of real physics and human movement.

To start using Gemini for video clip creation, it is necessary to subscribe to Google’s One AI Premium plan, which costs $20 per month. Once the Veo 2 implementation is complete, video generation will be available in all languages supported by Gemini, both on the web and on mobile devices. Additionally, Google is also incorporating video generation with Veo 2 in Whisk, an experimental AI application that the company offers through its beta platform, Google Labs. Whisk allows users to generate images from text and other images, and now, with Veo 2 integrated, users will be able to animate what they create in the app.
