Funcom has announced that its MMO survival game, Dune: Awakening, will be available on Steam on May 20. However, starting today, players can access the Character Creator and Benchmark Mode. These tools can be downloaded to allow players to customize their characters, enabling them to create versions that resemble Zendaya or Timothy Chalamet. This way, they can be ready to play at launch instead of spending hours in the customization menu. The created character can be imported into the game at the time of its release.

Players will have the ability to adjust all aspects of their character, choosing their home planet, caste, mentor, and other characteristics. The decisions they make will influence the character's initial skills, although at the end of the game, it will be possible to unlock all Schools (classes), providing the flexibility to choose desired skills. The Benchmark Mode will allow users to assess how the game performs on their systems, giving them the chance to make improvements if necessary, as Dune: Awakening has relatively high system requirements.

Additionally, pre-order bonuses have been revealed. By pre-ordering, players will receive Muad'Dib's Terrarium, which includes a small desert mouse. Those who download the Character Creator and Benchmark Mode will also receive a code for a knife skin called Frameblade, which can be redeemed at launch. Dune: Awakening will be available on Steam for a price of $50, and pre-orders will begin soon.
