Discover a USB drive that acts as a hardware-level antivirus.
Password authentication further enhances security.
Buffalo has introduced a new USB flash drive model, the RUF3-KEV, designed to provide effective protection against malware and viruses. This USB drive, which utilizes USB 3.2 Gen 1 technology, incorporates a security service called "DiXiM Security Endpoint." This service continuously monitors files stored or updated on the drive to detect any signs of infection.
In addition to this protection, the RUF3-KEV includes a real-time antivirus feature that activates upon identifying infected files, isolating and automatically removing them. It also features a "heuristic function," which allows the identification of potentially malicious programs by analyzing their behavior.
In terms of physical security, this drive supports password authentication to prevent unauthorized access. Despite its compact design (19.8 x 10 x 68 mm and 11 grams), it has a capless mechanism that protects the connector from damage, as well as a "self-retracting mechanism" that activates when the drive is removed from the USB port, providing additional defense against dust and physical damage.
The RUF3-KEV will be available in three models with modest storage capacities: 64GB, 32GB, and 16GB. Although prices have been announced only in yen, it is known that each model will cost 10,000 yen, 8,300 yen, and 6,600 yen, respectively.
