Delta Force Developers Warn About Cheats, Exploits, and... USB Drives?

The developers of Delta Force have taken a strong stance against the use of cheats, and even possessing a USB drive could lead to issues.

Delta Force, the new shooter from TiMi Studio Group inspired by Battlefield, was recently released as a free-to-play title. Early players are enjoying the experience, although the monetization system has been critiqued for its complexity and restrictions. This game is interesting for those who appreciate Battlefield-style gameplay and have found DICE's recent offerings disappointing.

However, a peculiar warning comes from Tencent, which has published a list of software deemed "risky" and may not be advisable for players. Delta Force employs GTI Security, a real-time monitoring system that has the ability to ban players for various violations. The list includes explicitly prohibited software, such as cheating tools, as well as other applications that are discouraged.

Among the completely prohibited applications are emulation scripts, programs that alter game speed, and virtual machines, which may complicate things for those trying to play on systems like Hackintosh. The "not recommended" programs include remote access tools, suggesting that streaming the game from a personal server could be problematic. The use of screenshot capture tools has also been banned.

If a player uses any prohibited software during a match, they could face an immediate ban. The situation is somewhat ambiguous for software in gray areas, but using them is likely to result in game errors. One of the oddest aspects of the list is the inclusion of USB devices, raising questions about the use of external media for entirely legitimate purposes, such as those players using their machine as a Plex server.

The decision to ban certain hardware and software raises many questions, to which Tencent has not provided clear answers. Below is the complete list of restricted hardware and software while running Delta Force:
