Confirmed the launch of Grok 3, which will be ten times more powerful than the previous model.
Elon Musk and his xAI team presented the Grok 3 artificial intelligence model, which is available in beta for paying users.
The xAI team, led by Elon Musk, presented the Grok 3 artificial intelligence model during a live stream. This new model is described as "multiple times more capable" than its predecessor, Grok 2, as it has power between 10 and 15 times higher. Additionally, it is mentioned that Grok 3 outperforms its AI competitors like DeekSeek and Google Gemini.
The xAI team indicated that they have been working on improvements for Grok 3 over the past few months, highlighting its ability to be "very, very fun." It was noted that only 17 months have passed since the launch of the original model, Grok 1. During demonstrations, it was shown how Grok 3 can perform complex tasks, such as calculating a round trip space mission to Mars, as well as creating a game that combines elements of Tetris and Bejeweled.
One of the innovative features of Grok 3 is the Big Brain mode, which allows for deeper reasoning when processing queries. Musk commented that, compared to the first model, which struggled with high school problems, "Grok is ready to go to college," reflecting significant advancement in its development.
In addition to Grok 3, the team mentioned that they are working on an AI gaming study targeted at consumers, as well as an advanced search function, which will be xAI's version of AI Agents. Grok 3 will be launched for Premium + users, and a new subscription product called SuperGrok will be introduced, offering enhanced access to the AI model along with additional features.
It is important to note that Grok 3 should be considered a beta version, so users are advised to be aware of potential processing errors. In a post-launch Q&A session, it was confirmed that Grok 3 has the capability to convert audio to text. It was also mentioned that Grok 2 will be made open source once Grok 3 reaches a "mature and stable" state.
