Apple could launch a new iCloud feature called 'Confetti', but we will still only have 5GB of storage.
Invite your friends easily.
Apple is set to launch a new feature for iCloud known as Confetti, aimed at facilitating the sending and management of invitations. While iCloud is widely used for various cloud activities, such as file management in iCloud Drive and accessing emails from any device, this new addition promises to enhance the way users connect with friends and family.
Information about Confetti was shared by journalist Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter, where he describes this feature as a “new event and invitation service based on iCloud.” The main idea is to provide users with a more efficient way to invite people to parties, meetings, and other events. Currently, users often resort to different methods, such as creating an event in the Apple Calendar app and sharing it, or sending messages through messaging apps.
According to Gurman, Confetti could be available as soon as this week, though it has not been confirmed that this is the final name, since it is mentioned to be the term that Apple uses internally. Therefore, it is possible that the name may change at the official launch. More information is expected in the coming days.
Despite the new features that Confetti promises to bring, there is still a persistent concern: the limited free iCloud storage. Apple offers a free storage tier of only 5GB, which can be insufficient, especially considering the continuous improvements in the photographic capabilities of iPhones, resulting in larger and more detailed images. This aspect may lead users to feel the need to purchase more space, a hidden cost associated with iPhone ownership that many must face.
While the arrival of Confetti seems to be a valuable addition to the iCloud toolkit, many users would prefer to see an increase in the amount of free storage.
