An unexpected Control update adds Hideo Kojima and HDR support to the PC version.

The video game Control has received an unexpected update that adds HDR support. Additionally, the integration with DLSS has been improved, and the availability of the famous Kojima has been expanded.

Control, the acclaimed third-person adventure game developed by Remedy Entertainment, has received a surprise software update. One of the highlights of this update is the addition of HDR support, a feature that will benefit the most demanding players in terms of graphics. Interestingly, HDR support started as a mod created by a Remedy developer as a personal project and is now part of the official game, which is quite a positive outcome.

In addition to HDR, the update improves support for DLSS, now integrating version 3.7. While it's not the latest version, DLSS 4.0, it remains effective. Film grain has also been reintegrated into DLSS SR, and shadow resolution has been enhanced with DLSS enabled. Another new addition is a ray-tracing preset called "Ultra," promising to improve the number of rays per pixel and greater temporal stability.

For ultrawide monitor users, the update offers compatibility of up to 48:9, along with a new FOV scaling setting for the camera and support for resolutions beyond 4K. This update particularly focuses on graphical improvements.

However, the new features are not limited to visual enhancements. All suits that were previously exclusive to pre-orders or specific consoles will now be available to all players. Additionally, a mission called Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience has been made accessible, featuring voices such as Hideo Kojima, which was previously only available in the PS4 Digital Deluxe version.

Finally, minor fixes have been implemented for some bugs, including one related to the game's end credits. The update is already available for PC players, while the console version will be coming soon.
