After several months, Pokémon TCG Pocket has added a card trading feature, but it has received negative criticism for its restrictive policies and the introduction of new types of currency. In response to these concerns, Creatures, Inc., the game's developer, has announced that updates and improvements are being prepared, although no specific date for implementation has been provided.
The company expressed gratitude for player feedback, emphasizing that the initial restrictions were introduced to prevent abuse by bots and the misuse of multiple accounts. The goal was to balance the game without sacrificing the collection experience that characterizes Pokémon TCG Pocket. However, they acknowledged that some of these restrictions were hindering players from enjoying the feature casually, and they are exploring modifications to address these issues.
Currently, the trading system limits transactions to cards of the same rarity level. Only cards with between 1 and 4 diamonds, which equates to 1 star, can be traded. To initiate a trade, players need to use specific trade tokens and hourglasses. Creatures, Inc. also mentioned that players who log in now will receive enough tokens to make one free trade. It is still unclear how the trading mechanics will evolve in future updates, although it seems unlikely that the restrictions will be completely lifted, as this would make it too easy to complete collections through trades.
Along the same lines, a new themed booster pack featuring Mew was recently launched, adding 86 new cards to the game. This update includes 68 brand-new cards and 18 rare versions, as well as offering 12 hourglasses for free as a gift to players.
As players familiarize themselves with the game, they face the challenge of creating competent decks. While a collection of good cards is essential, players must learn to balance their decks with battle cards, items, and trainers to compete effectively in the game.
