YouTube announces that soon its technology will be able to detect imitations of celebrities and creators made by artificial intelligence.

YouTube is giving celebrities greater control over their image.

YouTube is collaborating with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) with the aim of helping creators identify content that uses their AI-generated images on the platform, as well as allowing requests for the removal of such content. This initiative will initially focus on celebrities and athletes early next year, and will later expand to include major YouTube creators, creative professionals, and other prominent partners representing talent.

In September, YouTube had revealed its intention to implement tools that facilitate the management of representations and voices generated by artificial intelligence for creators. Now, the company has announced that it will be able to offer celebrities, and soon creators, the ability to manage artificial copies of their images, such as their faces, on a large scale.

Last year, CAA launched CAAVault, a system that scans and stores the digital images of its clients, including faces, bodies, and voices. Additionally, YouTube is developing technology for identifying synthetic singing, which aims to detect AI-generated content attempting to replicate creators' voices while singing. Record labels have already begun to be allowed to request the removal of AI content that simulates an artist's voice. Furthermore, there has been a requirement for creators to label videos containing AI-generated content since the beginning of this year.
