Your Verizon bill is going up a little.

Your Verizon bill is going to increase. The amount of the increase varies depending on the number of lines you have.

Verizon is once again making adjustments to its billing. The leading telecommunications company in the U.S. has decided to slightly increase its rates, resulting in higher monthly costs for its customers. Specifically, the "Telecom Administrative and Recovery Charge" will rise from $3.30 to $3.50 per voice line per month, as initially reported by a user on Reddit.

The company has stated on its website that this charge is intended to help cover certain direct and indirect costs that the company may face. These expenses can include, among others, property taxes, mobile number portability, and regulatory requirements. Although the increase is only 20 cents, the impact may be more noticeable depending on the number of lines on each account. For example, a family with two lines will see an additional charge of $0.40 per month, while a family of five will see a $1.00 increase in their monthly bill.

This adjustment fits into a recurring pattern in the company's fee structure. Two years ago, the administrative fee was $1.95 per voice line, and with this increase, it has reached $3.50. Additionally, a $0.06 fee for data-only lines was raised to $1.40 per line at the end of 2022, and it has now also gone up to $1.60. On the other hand, price increases are not new for telecommunications companies in the U.S. In 2023, Verizon, for example, raised the price of some plans by up to $5 per month. In March, it increased the monthly cost of its Get More 5GB lines by $4, while T-Mobile and AT&T also made adjustments to their rates, reflecting an overall trend in the industry.
