"You Won't Believe How Affordable HMD's New Android Phone Is."

The HMD Key is a very affordable phone, priced at around $75, although it is not yet available for sale in the United States.

A new budget-focused smartphone from HMD has been launched on the market, promising to be an attractive option for those seeking an affordable device. The HMD Key is now available in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, with a price of just $75. Although it is still unknown whether it will reach the United States, its cost may be appealing to many.

The HMD Key sacrifices specifications due to its low price. It features a 6.52-inch display with a maximum brightness of 460 nits, which makes it difficult to use in sunlight. Additionally, its resolution stands at 576 x 1280, placing it among some of the less powerful phones on the market. However, given its price point, it is understandable that outstanding performance cannot be expected.

In terms of storage capacity, the device comes with 32GB of internal memory and 2GB of RAM, powered by a Unisoc chipset. While its specifications are quite limited, battery life is a standout point; it is said to last up to 47 hours of use on a single charge, though this figure likely refers to maximum standby time.

On the other hand, the HMD Key runs on a simplified version of Android 14 Go, meaning it will not have the same functionality as more modern smartphones. Still, it allows access to social media and entertainment apps, which can be useful, especially as a first phone for children. The possibility of a launch in the U.S. market remains uncertain, but the introduction of more affordable options in the smartphone category is certainly appreciated.
