X by Elon Musk implements changes to the blocking feature that allows blocked users to see your posts.

The modification of the blocking function has already sparked controversy.

Elon Musk's X seems to have remained unaffected by the criticism received following the announcement of changes to the blocking feature. An official statement from the X account, published on Sunday, indicated that the update to this feature was starting to roll out. Previously, the platform, formerly known as Twitter, had signaled its intention to alter the way blocking works, which generated considerable negative feedback from users. Many of the comments on the recent announcement continue to be unfavorable.

Among the highlighted responses to the post, one read: "Damn idiots." However, since the weekend, some users have reported that they are now able to see the modifications to the blocking feature implemented on their accounts.

Regarding the evolution of the blocking feature, prior to these changes, blocking a user on the platform prevented the blocked person from seeing any content related to the account that blocked them. This included the profile page, posts, follower and following lists, as well as their replies to other public posts. Additionally, the blocked user could not interact with or send direct messages to the account that had blocked them.

With the new modifications, blocked users can now see the posts and profile page of the user who blocked them. However, there are still restrictions: they cannot follow, send direct messages, interact with, or reply to those users.

This change to the blocking feature has raised concerns, as it allows problematic individuals to continue stalking or harassing their victims even after being blocked, as they can still view their posts and updates. Previously, if a blocked user wanted to see the content of an account that had blocked them, they had to create a new account and use it each time they wanted to access that information. Now, this process has been simplified, allowing a blocked user to easily monitor those who have blocked them.
