Wyze cameras will use artificial intelligence to describe what they capture.
Including the color of the vehicles and the clothing of the people.
Wyze has introduced an innovative artificial intelligence feature designed to reduce the need for manually reviewing security footage. This feature, called Descriptive Alerts, will send notifications that provide an accurate summary of motion events, offering more detailed context than simply informing that motion or an object has been detected.
An example of an alert that illustrates this new feature is as follows: "a delivery person wearing a blue hat leaves a package at the door and then departs. A green SUV is parked on the street." While competing companies in the smart home security space, such as Ring and Nest, offer similar AI summarization functionalities, Wyze stands out by specifying details like color in its descriptions.
These descriptive alerts are available to Cam Unlimited Pro members, a new subscription service that costs $19.99 per month or $199.99 annually. This package includes other features such as facial recognition, video search by descriptive keywords, and the option to view multiple Wyze cameras live simultaneously. The subscription will also offer 60 days of cloud storage, though the availability of this feature is scheduled for "Spring 2025."
It is important to note that Wyze cameras have faced significant security and privacy issues in the past, so this should be considered when using them.
