Wow, Apple has approved another illegal streaming app.
The application was displayed differently depending on the user's location.
A new illegal streaming app briefly managed to be available in the App Store, but it only offered pirated movies to users in certain regions outside of the United States, such as France, Canada, and the Netherlands. Although Apple has recently removed the app, the "Univer Note" listing presented it as a productivity platform promising to “easily help record daily events and plan time.”
However, for users in the allowed regions, the app showcased a collection of pirated movies, such as Venom: The Last Dance, Joker: Folie à Deux, and Terrifier 3. The options within the app were labeled in French, while the movies were streamed in their original languages with French subtitles or dubbing.
For those who downloaded the app in unsupported territories like the United States, only the productivity version of the app was visible. This approach has been previously used by other piracy apps to evade detection by reviewers. A recent case was Kimi, which presented itself as a vision testing tool and was quickly removed following the spread of articles on the subject. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding this app.
