What is Daze? A Messaging App for Generation Z Goes Viral on TikTok.
The next big thing?
Daze, an unreleased messaging app, has captured attention on TikTok with a considerable number of views. This app, aimed at Generation Z, integrates artificial intelligence components and is distinguished by its dynamic design that includes a variety of fonts, colors, graphics, movements, stickers, and drawings. Several promotional videos for Daze have generated great interest, particularly one that reached eight million views. In this video, a user is shown interacting with their love interest using Daze's interactive features, such as drawings and games.
Recently, it was reported that Daze has managed to gather 156,000 people on its waiting list ahead of its scheduled launch on November 4. However, at this preliminary stage, the app has approximately 1,400 beta users who have received invitations. Daze aims to position itself as a more entertaining messaging app, incorporating creative tools powered by artificial intelligence. According to its founder, Willem Simons, the goal is to offer a comprehensive messenger that competes with established services like iMessage and WhatsApp while still maintaining fun and creative features.
It is still uncertain whether this combination of fun and functionality will find a viable market. Historically, some innovations in technology tend to generate a lot of noise but lack substance, as was the case with Clubhouse. Thus, Daze faces the challenge of proving it can be more than just a passing trend.
