We received a preview of Samsung's upcoming foldable phones.

Work is underway on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but they are unlikely to be released before the second half of 2025.

Samsung, like other phone manufacturers, maintains a fairly predictable schedule, launching a new numerically designated model each year. For this reason, it did not surprise many to learn that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 models are expected to arrive in 2025. Recently, additional information was revealed that confirms this, including the code names of both devices. According to the leak, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has the code name B7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is known as Q7.

Additionally, a third model has been identified with the code name Q7M, although its exact nature has not yet been clarified. Since its code is a derivation of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it is presumed that it could be a variant of the latter, although details remain scarce. It is reported that the Q7M has a development timeline that almost completely aligns with that of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but neither device is expected to be released before the summer of 2025. The launches of the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy A56 in the first half of 2025 are anticipated to divert attention from this new entry in the market.

There are rumors among fans that the Q7M could be the trifold phone that is said to be in development. However, this silence regarding details adds further mystery, especially as there is also speculation about the possibility of a special edition of the Galaxy Z Flip on the way. Perhaps the code for the Q7M is not the most indicative of a special version of the Z Flip, given its link to the Galaxy Z Fold. Among other speculations, there is also talk of a possible more affordable foldable, although the complexity of the engineering behind these devices makes an economical model seem unlikely at this time.

October 21 is shaping up to be a significant day for Samsung in the foldable phone arena. The company released a brief video confirming the presentation date of its latest device of this kind, promising "a new Galaxy with another innovation." Although the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition was not explicitly mentioned, the numerous existing leaks about this model suggest that this is indeed the case.

The success of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, one of the standout phones of the year, has raised expectations for its successor. Recent rumors indicate that its special version could be officially announced on October 25, contradicting earlier speculation that it would be on October 18.

On another note, in terms of device value retention, recent data suggests interesting changes. Although Apple products, such as the iPhone, have historically maintained their value better, recent reports indicate that this trend might be beginning to shift. According to information from SellCell, while iPhones continue to depreciate more slowly than other non-Apple phones, this decline is accelerating with each new release, while high-end Samsung models are showing greater resilience.
