Warcraft I and II receive a new remaster that is now available.

The task is complete.

Blizzard has recently released the Warcraft Remastered Battle Chest, which includes the remastered versions of the classic real-time strategy games Warcraft I and II, as well as a 2.0 update for Warcraft III: Reforged. The company made this announcement during the live stream for the 30th anniversary of Warcraft, where the collection is available for $39.99 on Battle.net.

The first two games have received updates similar to those implemented in Starcraft in 2017, improving original sprites and maps that now feature more detailed, high-resolution artwork. According to the Battle.net page, both titles also include "enhanced quality-of-life features for modern gaming." However, while the third game is compatible with Mac, the first two games are only available for PC.

As for Warcraft III: Reforged 2.0, it seems to be the company's attempt to rectify the poor reception that the 2020 remaster, Warcraft III: Reforged, received, which was so heavily criticized that Blizzard decided to offer an automated refund policy with no questions asked. The new version includes updated environments and "completely customizable graphics," along with the option to play with the original graphics but at a higher resolution.

If you're not interested in purchasing the entire collection, you can also buy the games individually. The prices are $9.99 for Warcraft I: Remastered, $14.99 for Warcraft II: Remastered, and $29.99 for Warcraft III: Reforged.

In addition to the remasters, Blizzard has announced a combination of Hearthstone and StarCraft called "Heroes of StarCraft," which will launch in January 2025 and will focus on StarCraft. Although it is not a new StarCraft game, the series is at least mentioned. On the other hand, Blizzard is updating World of Warcraft by adding a new dungeon to the modern version and an adaptation of Mists of Pandaria for WoW Classic, resembling the 2012 expansion. It has also been announced that Warcraft Rumble will be available in beta for PC on December 10.
