Valve starts selling refurbished OLED Steam Decks starting at $439.
That represents a savings of $110 compared to buying a new one.
Valve has begun offering refurbished models of its popular Steam Deck OLED, which has distinguished itself as the most advanced version of its handheld console. This option is now available at a price of $439 in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and the EU, representing a savings of $110 compared to the cost of a new unit. This price corresponds to the 512 GB model with a glossy screen, while the 1TB model with an anti-glare screen can be purchased for $519, a lower price than the $549 one would pay for a new 512 GB model (the 1 TB model typically sells for $649).
The refurbished devices undergo a rigorous evaluation process at Valve’s facilities, where more than 100 tests are conducted, including a battery health check. The company assures that these devices will meet or even exceed the performance standards of new units. Each refurbished console comes with a carrying case, a refurbished power adapter, and a one-year warranty, although they may exhibit slight cosmetic imperfections.
Since its launch in November 2023, the Steam Deck OLED has maintained its position as one of the best options for playing PC games on the go. Although competitors like the Asus ROG Ally X have managed to match or improve on certain aspects, such as battery life and performance, Valve has stated that it has no plans to release a new Steam Deck model in the short term. The company intends to wait for new chips to be developed that can offer a significant leap in performance without compromising battery life.
