Toyota installed five large screens in this Tundra truck.
The welcome parties in NFL parking lots, as well as the game day gatherings, have changed forever.
Toyota has unveiled a customized version of its Tundra pickup truck, capable of deploying five large-screen televisions from its bed, designed to create a unique tailgating experience that allows fans to enjoy football games from "any angle." This prototype vehicle, called the "Ultimate Tailgate Tundra," was showcased at the SEMA 2024 show in Las Vegas, where other interesting concepts were also presented, such as the open-air Toyota Land Cruiser.
What sets this Tundra apart from other displays at the event is its clever engineering. With the push of a button, a custom-built stage frame rises from the truck bed using four electric actuators, revealing five external 55-inch screens designed to withstand the elements.
To minimize sun glare, it is equipped with a canopy structure that provides 185 square feet of shade and creates a game-friendly atmosphere. Additionally, it features a JBL Club Marine Series audio system that includes four speakers and two subwoofers, as well as a satellite Wi-Fi system for connecting and streaming TV channels.
According to Mike Tripp, vice president of marketing at Toyota, the Ultimate Tailgate Tundra symbolizes the brand's collaboration with the NFL and showcases one of the many "lifestyle applications" that this truck can offer. However, Toyota does not plan to sell a special accessory that would allow owners to customize their own truck to enjoy the same mobile entertainment experience.
It is worth noting that despite these innovative features, the Tundra is not an electric vehicle capable of powering all these technological devices. Instead, the brand has opted to include a generator, which also limits the storage space in the front of the truck where other tailgating items, like cold drinks, could be stored.
