Threads enhances its search tools amid rising competition with Bluesky.
Threads: Search for "features of Bluesky."
Threads has announced the incorporation of new search tools in an effort to remain relevant in the competitive world of social media. The platform revealed that it is making it easier for users to search for specific posts. Through an in-app message, it was indicated that users should click on the menu located to the right of the search bar, from where they can refine their search by filtering by profile and date range.
This new feature will begin rolling out globally in the coming weeks. Some users may already have access, while others will have to wait a bit longer. The announcement mentioned that if it is not yet available, users will soon be able to enjoy it.
This change comes in a context where many users are abandoning the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, in response to decisions made by Elon Musk, which seem to be leading the app towards decline. Meanwhile, there is an increase in users opting for Bluesky. Nevertheless, Threads is not deserted and aims to keep its users engaged.
While the addition of the search function may seem late for a social media app, it is a strategic move for Meta as it observes new features emerging on platforms like Bluesky. Recently, Threads has also aligned itself with elements of Bluesky's "Starter Packs," which could further incentivize activity on its platform.
