Threads could soon allow you to add music to your posts.
Meta is working on an internal feature to allow the inclusion of music in Threads posts, the company has confirmed.
Meta is internally exploring the possibility of adding music to posts on Threads, the company has confirmed. This feature is already available on other Meta social apps, such as Instagram and Facebook, suggesting that the company might be considering integrating this option into its competitor's platform, X.
At the moment, this feature is not being publicly tested and was discovered by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, known for identifying unreleased features during development. The inclusion of music in posts could be well-received by those looking to add a personal touch to their entries and express their musical tastes, evoking a similar era to Myspace. However, it is also likely that there will be those who do not appreciate this type of content, as it could be somewhat confusing or disruptive.
As with other internal prototypes, it is unclear if or when Meta plans to officially launch this feature. Additionally, it was reported last week that Threads is also in the process of internally testing the option to establish a display name and add a cover image to profiles, which would enhance the user experience on Threads and align it more with competitors like X and Bluesky.
