Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram and Threads, announced that the platform has reached 275 million monthly active users. In a message posted Sunday night, he expressed his gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this growth, acknowledging that there is still much to be done and many areas to improve, but he also conveyed his enthusiasm for the development of this space.
Threads was launched last summer amid an exodus of users from Twitter, especially after Elon Musk's acquisition of the platform, which he rebranded as X. Although Threads is perceived as a direct competitor to Twitter/X, the features and use cases it offers vary significantly between the two platforms.
Meanwhile, Musk stated in May that X had 600 million monthly active users, of which approximately half use the platform daily. However, some reports suggest that the number of X users has declined since Musk's acquisition. In contrast, Threads has shown accelerated growth in its user base.
