A control device for smart homes that includes fall detection features.

On Monday, Flic introduced the Flic Duo, a smart button that can be mounted on the wall and controlled with customizable gestures. This remote control, featuring two buttons, allows users to create over 30 motion-based commands, meaning it can be programmed, for example, to play a specific playlist with a swipe. It is also possible to set up the Duo to perform different tasks based on its location, functioning as a light switch when mounted on the wall and acting as music control when held in hand.

Additionally, Flic has added extra functionalities that facilitate its integration with other smart devices. It is compatible with Matter, ensuring its operation across all major smart home platforms, and features a replaceable battery that can last up to three years. If the button is ever lost, it is easy to track its location through the companion Flic app.

The Flic Duo not only serves as a controller for smart homes but also includes safety features aimed at seniors and "lone workers." These functions encompass fall detection and the ability to use it as a personal alarm thanks to an integrated speaker. Flic assures that the remote can operate for three years on a single button battery.

Pre-sales for the Flic Duo will begin on January 28 at a promotional price of $49, with shipping expected to take place sometime in the second quarter of this year.
