This monitor breaks records by reaching 610Hz, no kidding!

This monitor, which sets a new record, can reach a frequency of 610 Hz, truly astonishing.

Asus has announced a new monitor that sets a speed record with an impressive refresh rate of 610Hz. This model, known as the Asus ROG XG248Q5G-P, was revealed through the company's social media with claims of having broken the record. Designed primarily for the realm of eSports, this monitor can be overclocked to achieve that smoothness of 610Hz.

Although the monitor's name isn't the most appealing, its specifications are notably competitive. Asus indicates that the model features a 24-inch Full HD display and a "Super" TN panel that offers an ultra-fast response time of 0.1ms. While the standard refresh rate is 240Hz, users can opt to push that figure to 480Hz or 610Hz depending on their needs.

In terms of connectivity, the monitor offers options via HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and a standard audio jack. It's specifically designed for gamers, featuring Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium for variable refresh rates. Color coverage is also impressive, reaching 90% of DCI-P3. The use of the company's dual backlighting technology helps reduce motion blur and enhance brightness.

Within the ROG lineup, this monitor includes exclusive artificial intelligence features, such as an on-screen crosshair and dynamically enhanced shadow details for better visibility in competitive gaming. The Asus ROG XG248Q5G-P is expected to start shipping next month at a price of 7,999 RMB, approximately $1,100. However, it remains unclear whether it will be shipped to international markets.

Regarding the use of a 610Hz refresh rate, it should be noted that few games will be able to fully take advantage of this capability. Achieving such a smooth gaming experience will require an extremely powerful machine and finding a game that can reach these performance levels. For example, Doom Eternal, which uses the id Tech 7 engine, could be a suitable option to try to push this monitor to its limits.
