This is the Game of the Year nominee you should buy on Cyber Monday.

Almost all the Game of the Year nominees at the Game Awards are on sale for Cyber Monday, but there’s one deal that stands out above the rest.

The awards ceremony for the best video games of the year, the Game Awards 2024, is approaching, coinciding with Cyber Monday promotions where several of the nominees for Game of the Year are available at discounted prices. Among the deals, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth stands out at $40, Astro Bot at $50, and Metaphor ReFantazio also at $50. These titles are worth their price, but the most attractive offer is the edition of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, priced at $50 instead of the usual $80. This price not only includes the base game but also the acclaimed expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, which has been nominated for Game of the Year in this edition of the awards.

The inclusion of an expansion in the Game of the Year category has sparked debates about whether it's fair for a DLC to compete in this category, as it could be considered more of an extension of the original title rather than a standalone creation. However, Shadow of the Erdtree provides significant content, with a new open-world area filled with bosses and innovative systems, making it feel almost like a sequel. At this price, it represents an excellent option for those who haven't yet explored Elden Ring, a game that won the Game of the Year award in 2022. By combining the classic formula of Dark Souls with the free exploration characteristic of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it offers an impressive experience that blends mystery, challenge, and beauty.

In addition to Elden Ring, other nominees like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Metaphor ReFantazio are great RPGs worthy of their price. While Astro Bot has a smaller discount, it remains one of the most charming titles of the year. On the other hand, Balatro, the successful physical version of a poker roguelike, is now priced at $20, and although the digital version is cheaper, the physical edition includes fun cards.

Lastly, while there are expectations for discounts on Black Myth: Wukong, the game based on Journey to the West remains the most expensive on the list at $65. However, the expansion Shadow of the Erdtree stands out as the best deal of the day, offering a premium experience in the genre.
