This $1,700 portable gaming device is a delight for Evangelion fans.

The OneXPlayer X1 Pro is clearly inspired by Evangelion, and its availability is limited.

The OneXPlayer X1 Pro has returned to the market with a new anime-inspired design, better internal specifications, and an eye-catching price. If you haven't seen it before, its appearance is a mix between the Microsoft Surface and the Nintendo Switch, with a style that could have emerged at a convention dedicated to Evangelion. This device is not only a gaming laptop but can also function as a 2-in-1 PC. It comes equipped with a rear stand that allows you to tilt the screen, along with a detachable keyboard also themed around Evangelion, which can be easily removed. The gamepads located on the sides of the screen give it a peculiar look, but they can be detached and used as game controllers. Keep in mind that it features a 10.95-inch display, which could make prolonged use difficult due to its size.

The power of this device lies in its 64GB of RAM and 2TB of internal memory, enough to store all your favorite games and everything related to Evangelion. Inside, it carries an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor, an upgrade from the previous model that used the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Its display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, with a maximum brightness of 540 nits and a resolution of 2.5K HD. Additionally, it has a 65wH battery and 100W fast charging.

This model is a limited edition, and its availability will not be eternal. Despite its notable specifications, its high price of $1,650 might make many question whether it's really worth it. For context, with that cost, one could acquire a mid to high-end gaming PC or even 3.5 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. The original OneXPlayer X1 Pro is not much more affordable, starting at $1,500, although it is currently on sale for $1,360. While this device may be considered a curiosity, it remains impressive hardware.
