The cozy horror game from SFB Games will arrive on Nintendo Switch on October 16.

One of the most striking and fascinating horror video games of this year is coming to a new console. Crow Country, developed by SFB Games, will be released on Nintendo Switch on October 16. While it may seem like a brighter, grainier version of Animal Crossing, this aspect contributes to the unsettling and dark atmosphere of the horror adventure.

Players will take on the role of Mara Forest, a brave young woman exploring an abandoned amusement park called Crow Country. The owner, Edward Crow, has mysteriously vanished and has been missing for two years. It is Mara's task to unravel the secrets of this desolate theme park and find its former owner.

Critic Cheyenne MacDonald, in a review published in May, noted that the game draws inspiration from the aesthetics and eerie monsters of early PlayStation horror titles, such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Interestingly, she described the game as “cozy,” an unusual term for a horror game. This "cozy" nature of Crow Country adds to the horror by introducing seemingly familiar characters into a Lovecraftian horror and mystery setting. Its impact has been so significant that it has made it onto the list of the best horror games of the year.

Additionally, Crow Country is available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X/S.
