The title translates to: "‘Xenoblade Chronicles X’ Announced: Why It Might Be an Excellent Choice for Switch Players New to the Franchise?"
We're back, with full force!
Almost a decade has passed since Xenoblade Chronicles X surprised a small group of players on the Wii U, but now its audience is likely to grow significantly. The acclaimed series, considered one of Nintendo's most underrated, will be completed on the Nintendo Switch with the release of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, scheduled for March 20, 2025.
This new port, developed by Monolith Soft, promises to deliver improved graphics and additional story content for this ambitious RPG, which debuted on the unfortunate Wii U console in 2015, at a late stage of its life cycle. Unlike other titles in the series, Xenoblade X features a standalone narrative, making it an ideal entry point for those interested in exploring its world.
The game unfolds in a vast open world divided into five beautifully designed continents, set on an alien planet called Mira. Here, humanity seeks refuge after Earth was destroyed due to an alien conflict. Among its main features are the immensity of the world and fully customizable mechs that allow players to fly and access new areas. This environment has been remembered as one of the most memorable in recent video game history, to the point that Nintendo turned to Monolith Soft for help with the development of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild shortly after the release of Xenoblade X.
The title also incorporates fun elements, such as the main city of Mira, called "New Los Angeles," and quirky names for combat classes, like "Partisan Eagle" and "Full Metal Jaguar." Finally, nearly ten years after the Wii U offered this exclusive, fans of the series will finally be able to enjoy one of its biggest works on the Switch console.
