The supposed Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo seems to be the instant camera I've always dreamed of – find out why.

Finally, an Instax Wide camera that combines style and functionality?

Fujifilm is at the cusp of what could be an exciting release for instant photography enthusiasts. The company is expected to unveil several mirrorless camera models by 2025, including the X-E5 and the intriguing compact medium-format GFX100RF. However, one of the most anticipated releases is the supposedly named Instax Wide Evo, which promises to be a blend of fun design and functionality at an accessible price.

According to various leaks, the Instax Wide Evo will launch "soon," incorporating features from the Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo and the Instax Wide 400, with the premise of offering an engaging and versatile experience. Rumors suggest that this model will be "considered the best-looking Instax of all," which could be a topic of debate, as many believe that the Instax Mini Evo already holds the title of the most stylish instant camera on the market.

While not many details about the specifications have been revealed, it is speculated that it may include a lens equivalent to 35mm, an automatic flash, and a timer, similar to what its predecessor, the Mini Evo, offers. An interesting detail that has leaked is the presence of a "film rewind button" on the camera, allowing the user to decide when to print their photos.

One of the factors that make the Instax Wide Evo attractive is the fact that its Wide format offers larger prints, measuring 8.6 x 10.8 cm, which resemble conventional photographs more closely compared to the Mini format. However, although the Instax Wide 400 has been the only option on the market, its design and limited features have left it a bit behind.

The appeal of a hybrid camera like the Instax Evo lies in the fact that users can choose which images to print, which is especially useful given the high cost of film packs. Although this functionality does not offer the same experience as traditional film developing, it is much more practical, especially for parents looking for an easy and fun option for their children.

The possibility that the Instax Wide Evo offers a direct connection to Fujifilm cameras like the X-T5 would be a great addition, although it is not guaranteed. Currently, the brand has limited this functionality to a few models, requiring others to use the smartphone app. However, despite this, interest in the release of the Instax Wide Evo remains strong, and it seems that we won't have to wait long to learn more about it.
