The stunning Mononoke movie is coming to Netflix at the end of this month.
Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain will arrive on Netflix on November 28th.
The movie "Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain," directed by Kenji Nakamura, stands out as one of the most visually stunning anime productions of the year and is set to arrive on Netflix in a few weeks. Like the series "Mononoke," this film tells the story of an anonymous merchant, voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya, who not only sells medicines but also specializes in exorcising evil spirits known as "mononoke" that terrorize the living.
When the Medicine Seller arrives at the imperial palace, his intuition warns him of the presence of a mononoke hidden deep within the most private areas of the building. However, being a man, he is forbidden from entering the imperial harem, where women like Asa (Tomoyo Kurosawa) and Kame (Aoi Yūki) gather in hopes of becoming mothers to the next royal heir. Given the threat the mononoke poses to the entire palace, the Medicine Seller is compelled to challenge these norms. The new Netflix trailer for the movie provides a glimpse of the dazzling chaos that ensues from this situation.
Although the film is visually captivating, it is surprising that Netflix has not promoted its release more in advance. Nonetheless, viewers will not have to wait long to enjoy it, as its debut on the platform is scheduled for November 28.
