The strange problems with Apple’s iPhone alarms continue to occur.

It's not ideal for your alarm to go off 40 minutes later than scheduled.

Apple acknowledged in April issues with the reliability of its built-in alarm function on the iPhone following a report from a morning program. Although the company stated that it was working on a solution, there are still users experiencing difficulties. Recently, a user on Reddit shared a post in the r/iPhone subreddit showing an image of their iPhone with an alarm scheduled for 10:30, but it went off at 12:42, coinciding with the time displayed on an Apple Watch.

Throughout Thursday, numerous users on Reddit continued to comment on this topic, reporting similar experiences. One user mentioned that their morning alarm activated visually with no sound or vibrations for 40 minutes. Another user indicated that their alarm went off at 5 PM instead of 7 AM, as it was scheduled.

Comments indicate that some users are still on iOS 17, while others have updated to iOS 18. Despite some trying to disable Apple’s Attention and Awareness features, which adjust the volume of the alarm when detecting the user’s face, this adjustment has not proven effective for many, and doing so results in losing the ability to see full notifications on the lock screen.

Although Apple has been asked for information on whether they are still investigating this issue, there has yet to be a response. Personally, I've also noticed that my iPhone sometimes doesn’t emit sounds or vibrate in the mornings, even though it seems to show an inactive notification as if it were. Fortunately, I have a Google Pixel 8 Pro as a backup, which generally wakes me up, and I'm also trying out the Nintendo alarm, although my wife has already been annoyed by Zelda shouting at Link to wake up.
