The sequel to the beloved mystery game Golden Idol will be released in November.

The sequel to the acclaimed mystery and murder point-and-click game, The Case of the Golden Idol, titled The Rise of the Golden Idol, will be released on November 12. This game, which was announced last year, already has a new demo available to play on Steam.

The plot of The Rise of the Golden Idol is set in the 1970s, a time jump of over 200 years compared to the stories solved in The Case of the Golden Idol. The game’s description indicates that it follows a persistent relic hunter on his quest for a powerful artifact that, according to legend, has the ability to change the world. As an observer, the player will need to investigate 20 strange cases related to crime, death, and depravity.

This new title will be available on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and also on mobile devices for those with a Netflix subscription.

In addition, the developer Color Gray Games has released a "Redux" update for The Case of the Golden Idol, which includes improvements such as a new user interface and a hint system. It is also expected that this latest game will be verified for Steam Deck soon, although prior to this, there were no major difficulties playing it on Valve's handheld console in 2022.
