Activo has unveiled its new IEMs, the Q1, specifically designed to complement its P1 player set to be released in July 2024. This creation is the result of a collaboration between Activo, a sub-brand of Astell & Kern, and Singapore's DITA Audio. The Q1 IEMs are priced at $349 or £299 (approximately AUD 590).
For those high-resolution audio enthusiasts who may not know Activo, it's worth mentioning that its parent brand, Astell & Kern, is well-recognized in the industry. Last year, the P1 player left a lasting impression by delivering excellent sound at a competitive price, allowing it to stand out in MP3 player buying guides.
Now, the South Korean company has enthusiastically announced these in-ear monitors, which, with their attractive appearance, showcase the quality to be expected from this collaboration with DITA Audio. According to A&K, this partnership leverages over 45 years of experience in the audio industry to create ideal headphones for the new P1 player.
Regarding specifications, the Activo Q1 is a hybrid IEM that incorporates a new 9.8mm PM1+ dynamic driver with a brass housing and a Knowles balanced armature driver. Additionally, DITA Audio is known for designing custom cables for each headphone model, making the Q1 a unique option, especially with its white coating that promises an optimal listening experience alongside the Activo P1.
The MOCCA2 cable, made in the United States, consists of 32 strands of Cardas conductors per cable and is designed according to DITA's specifications. The purchase includes both 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm unbalanced connectors, as the P1 features both outputs.
To maximize comfort, the Q1 comes with a mini hard case branded Activo x DITA, made by Tanos, along with five different sizes of ear tips to ensure a proper fit.
Activo Q1 IEMs are now available for purchase on Amazon at a cost of £299, $349, or €399 (around AUD 590). Brand followers agree that these headphones have the potential to join the ranks of the best IEMs that have been tested.
