The PS5 Slim will have a price reduction for the holidays.
Get it for $379.99 while supplies last.
Sony has decided to reduce the price of the "slim" digital edition of the PS5 by $70, making it a more accessible option for the holiday season. Typically, this PS5 model sells for $449.99, but from now on, it will have a starting price of $379.99 until December 24, according to a new announcement. This special offer brings the "slim" digital edition of the PS5 below the original price of $399.99 for the launch version of the digital PS5 console.
It’s important to note in the footnote of the announcement that this price applies only to the console without a disc drive. Therefore, the model that includes a disc drive will continue to be priced at $499.99. However, thanks to this holiday offer, by purchasing a digital PS5 "slim" and one of Sony's separate disc readers, which costs $79.99, users can assemble their own PS5 with a disc drive, thereby saving around $40.
Another option for those looking to save is to consider the refurbished PS5s offered by Sony: a refurbished digital unit sells for $349.99, while a model with a disc drive costs $399.99. However, these refurbished consoles retain the original bulkier (and arguably less aesthetically pleasing) design of the PS5 compared to the "slim" model.
On the other hand, the PS5 Pro is also available, priced at $699.99, although this version also does not include a disc drive. The convenience of paying a higher cost for this model may depend on the user's distance from the screen.
