The PlayStation 5 cases are not compatible with the PS5 Pro.
The PlayStation 5 casings are not compatible with the PS5 Pro. However, Sony has confirmed that there will be new casings designed specifically for the upgraded console.
The upcoming PS5 Pro will not be compatible with existing PlayStation 5 covers, according to an announcement from Sony. This incompatibility is not entirely surprising, given that the PS5 Pro has a slightly slimmer design than the original model. A Reddit user known as Zrorro conducted a test with cobalt blue covers and concluded that the top plates do not fit properly. Although they are the same physical size, the position of the "tabs" that connect to the console is different, which prevents them from fitting together.
Sony has confirmed that "PS5 console covers are not compatible with the PS5 Pro." However, there is good news: the company is developing covers specifically designed for the new, expensive console. Additionally, it is very likely that third-party accessory manufacturers will also offer solutions soon.
In the meantime, users will have to settle for a simple design on the PS5 Pro. This new model will be priced at $700, which may limit the ability to acquire additional accessories immediately after purchase. The PS5 Pro will be available starting November 7.
