Game Science has announced that a physical edition of Black Myth: Wukong will be released for PlayStation 5 in the near future. In a recent post on the Black Myth: Wukong X Twitter account, the developer expressed gratitude to fans for their patience, stating that "the gold master of Black Myth: Wukong is ready." This gold master contains the final version of the game that will be used to create additional copies during the production process.
Although the post mentions that "the PS5 physical edition will be available very soon," no specific timeline is provided. However, the existence of the gold master suggests that the physical release could happen in the coming months.
On another note, it was revealed that the game has sold 10 million copies across all platforms, including PS5 and PC, as of August 23 of this year. Versions for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are also in development, although there is still no defined timeline for their release.
Black Myth: Wukong was originally released on August 19. This action game, inspired by Journey to the West, incorporates elements of the best games in the soulslike genre, featuring visually stunning environments. Battles with powerful bosses are a central focus, alongside a variety of formidable enemies that players must overcome.
Recently, the game has generated controversy, especially when it was reported that streamers were provided with a list of topics they should avoid mentioning while playing, such as "feminist propaganda, fetishization, and other content that instigates negative discourse." This request was deemed sexist by many online commentators.
