The owner of TikTok launches its first headphones.
They are related to the company's generative artificial intelligence assistant, Doubao.
The Chinese company ByteDance, known for owning TikTok, has decided to diversify into the hardware sector with the launch of its first headphones, called Ola Friend. These devices will be available in the Chinese market for a price of $170 and connect with the company's generative artificial intelligence assistant, named Doubao, which is activated by a voice command.
According to reports, these headphones can be used as a tour guide while traveling, as well as to improve English learning through their integration with the Doubao app. The popularity of this app is notable, with over 47 million monthly active users as of September. The introduction of the Ola Friend comes after ByteDance's acquisition of Oladance, a manufacturer of portable audio devices, which was completed this year. The headphones will be available in four colors: purple, silver, black, and white. Pre-orders are available starting today, and they are expected to begin shipping on October 17.
