The OnePlus 12 incorporates these new features.
Update your OnePlus 12 to enjoy customizable app folders and enhanced security with the new OxygenOS update.
Several new features are being implemented for OnePlus 12 users as part of the OxygenOS 15.0.0.701 update, which is based on Android 15. This update package, which includes the March 2025 security patch, focuses particularly on enhancing home screen customization. Users now have the option to resize app folders to dimensions of 1×2 or 2×1. Additionally, the dock can support up to five applications when the main screen is set to show four applications per row.
OnePlus 12 users will also benefit from improved controls for the Spotify music player, incorporated into the Live Alerts feature. Furthermore, the update simplifies the process for resetting privacy passwords and introduces enhancements to security features, as it is a security update.
Recently, the OxygenOS 15.0.0.700 update began rolling out for OnePlus Open users, following a gradual global release, similar to that of the OnePlus 12. The latter was launched in early 2024 and features a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a QHD+ resolution (3168 x 1440 pixels). Like other premium smartphones, it is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, offering options of 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The device features a triple rear camera system developed in collaboration with Hasselblad, which includes a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, it also has a 32MP front camera. The OnePlus 12 has been praised for its outstanding performance, display quality, battery life, and enhanced camera capabilities compared to previous models, establishing itself as a strong competitor in the premium smartphone market.
This year also saw the launch of the OnePlus 13, which brings several innovations compared to its predecessor, including a next-generation chipset, an improved camera system, a higher-capacity battery, among others.
In another area, OnePlus has introduced a MagSafe battery called the OnePlus Slim Magnetic Power Bank, which has a capacity of 5,000mAh and can be magnetically attached to the back of phones for wireless charging. Additionally, it features a USB connector for wired charging and has a thickness of 9mm and a weight of 120g. Its aluminum design includes an LED indicator that allows users to visualize the remaining charge.
On the other hand, one of the few downsides of the OnePlus Watch 3 is that it is only available in a single case size. However, the recent introduction of an Oppo smartwatch could open the possibility for a Mini version of the OnePlus Watch 3. The Oppo Watch X2 Mini is officially set to launch on April 10 and is available for pre-order in China, which could indicate plans for a similar OnePlus model.
Oppo and OnePlus established a strategic partnership in 2021, sharing research, development, and software and camera partners, which means that although the products are distinct, they show many similarities. The OnePlus Watch 3 has a counterpart in the Oppo Watch X2, and both are practically identical.
