The official licensed Hori Steam controller will arrive in the United States.

Pre-orders can be made before its release on December 16.

Hori plans to launch its official controller for Steam in the United States, which is already available for pre-order on Amazon for a price of $60. This gamepad is expected to be available starting December 16. Originally, Hori released the Wireless Horipad for Steam in October, but only in Japan.

This controller includes dedicated buttons that allow quick access to Steam menus, whether in Big Picture mode or on the company’s handheld console. Like the Steam Deck, the gamepad incorporates touch sensors in the joysticks for motion controls and mappable rear buttons.

The device connects to computers or the Steam Deck via Bluetooth or through the included USB-A receiver. According to Hori, the controller’s battery can last up to 12 hours on a full charge; however, it is also possible to use a USB cable to continue playing if the battery runs out during gameplay. Additionally, it offers the option to remap buttons and adjust the sensitivity of the sticks, gyroscopic controls, and turbo settings from the controller menu in Steam.

However, the Hori controller lacks some features that could be considered standard in a dedicated Steam controller, such as vibration packs, a headphone jack, and a touchpad. Despite this, it seems to be an interesting option if you're looking for a controller that serves as an extension of the Steam Deck. It’s unfortunate that Valve has not reintroduced the highly customizable Steam controller it discontinued in 2019.
