The Off-Road Concept of the Audi Q6 E-tron Elevated is Ready for Winter Driving.

It will make its appearance in an ice race, which makes sense.

Audi has unveiled a new dual-motor electric vehicle concept designed for off-road use, based on the Q6 E-tron model, which appears to be well-prepared to tackle extreme snowy environments. The automaker has created a functional prototype that raises the vehicle by 6.3 inches and widens it by 9.8 inches, giving it a presence that could fit perfectly in Truck Country, USA.

Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi, describes the "Q6 E-Tron Off-road concept" as a "reinterpretation of Quattro," which is the term the company uses to refer to its all-wheel-drive models. The increase in the vehicle's height is due to the implementation of four custom portal axes integrated into the wheel hub assemblies, both front and rear, which, according to Audi, increases the torque at the wheels by 50 percent.

Each axle features an electric motor that generates a total combined power of 380 kW and up to 9,883 lb-ft of torque at maximum capacity, representing an increase of 3,245 lb-ft compared to the conventional Q6 E-tron. The latter is the first Audi model built on Volkswagen’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) modular platform, which is also used in the new A6 E-tron and the Porsche Macan EV.

The vehicle is designed to climb inclines of up to 45 degrees, although the company has limited the Q6's top speed to 108 mph. However, it is not advisable to drive at that speed in a vehicle of this height. This proposal from Audi is presented as a more realistic alternative compared to other futuristic concepts from the brand, such as the Activesphere, which combines a coupe with a pickup truck and features a mixed-reality cockpit, or the "AI:Trail," a truly apocalyptic off-road vehicle equipped with drones as headlights.

The Audi Q6 E-tron Offroad concept will be showcased at the FAT International Ice Race in Austria on February 1. The company also plans to demonstrate it in action through its online platforms.
