The next Nintendo Direct will focus on Donkey Kong Country from Super Nintendo World.
Is the mine cart roller coaster almost ready?
Nintendo has announced that it will finally present the long-awaited Donkey Kong Country section in Super Nintendo World during a Nintendo Direct stream, scheduled for Monday at 5 PM ET. This is a positive sign for the theme park expansion dedicated to Mario's iconic rival, as its opening was delayed earlier this year. The company confirmed in 2021 that it was developing this area, which will include a mine cart-themed roller coaster.
Nintendo and Universal Studios had previously shown a digital render of this region earlier this year, and it was confirmed that when the Super Nintendo World version in Orlando, Florida, opens its doors on May 22, 2025, it will feature all the attractions offered by its counterpart in Osaka.
As for updates on the Nintendo Switch 2, the company has cautioned that "no information about games will be presented." At the end of May, Nintendo revealed that the Donkey Kong Country roller coaster, called Mine-Cart Madness, will have impressive maneuvers, including being "launched out of a barrel" and seemingly jumping over gaps while speeding along the track.
Additionally, visitors will be able to find Donkey Kong merchandise and enjoy interactive experiences throughout the new area of the park.
