The next big Warframe update seems to have been made just for me, as it includes a David Bowie-inspired frame, numerous quality of life improvements, and a horribly mutated boy band.

It is the celebration of a life.

Digital Extremes, the studio behind Warframe, is known for its extensive and engaging live streams dedicated to the game's development. These devstreams not only entertain but have also significantly contributed to the title’s success, offering insight into how the team actively cares about the future of the game and its community. Recently, the first devstream of 2025 took place, which turned out to be especially exciting.

During the broadcast, it was revealed that the next warframe to be released will be a character named Temple, who is the 60th unique playable frame. This new character is inspired by the iconic David Bowie and will use a guitar as their signature weapon. Additionally, Temple will be canonized as non-binary, which has generated a lot of anticipation among fans of the LGBTQ+ community.

To accompany Temple, Digital Extremes has partnered with the progressive metal band Periphery, promising a unique soundtrack that captures the essence of "songs to slay monsters with a guitar." Alongside this revelation, the devstream presented other announcements, such as the new primed variant of Lavos, ticket sales for TennoCon 2025, and the return of popular events like Star Days and Belly of the Beast.

A preview of several aesthetic updates was also shown, including the inherited skin of Rhino and the Deluxe skin of Gyre, as well as some additional cosmetic items. Moreover, new techrot weapons were introduced, featuring a distinct style reminiscent of 90s audio equipment.

One of the most anticipated changes in gameplay mechanics includes the reduction of enemy waves in Defense missions, which will decrease from 5 to 3. This is significant for players, as it will allow for quicker mission completions and more efficient rewards. Other improvements include adjustments to “pseudo exalted” weapons, increases in Riven capacity and modifications, as well as enhanced options for selling or dismantling unwanted duplicate mods.

It was also confirmed that there will be more interactions with the Hex, the six NPCs known as 'protoframe', which will allow players to engage in conversations and provide company in the resting area known as Backroom.

On the other hand, the Technocyte Coda was introduced, a group of antagonists that are a grotesque version of what was once known as On-Lyne, a group of talented kids who have transformed due to a virus. These adversaries are part of the system already seen with Kuva Liches and Sisters of Parvos and will bring new weapons and cosmetic items with them.

For players with limited time, the weapon acquisition system will be improved by allowing tokens to be exchanged for chosen weapons, eliminating the need to hunt specific Adversaries. This accessibility should make the gaming experience friendlier for everyone.

While more interesting changes could be mentioned, the stream ultimately highlighted a series of updates that should keep the community engaged and enhance the gaming experience in the future.
