The new Tribit StormBox Blast 2 offers more power and karaoke features.
The Bluetooth speaker manufacturers, Tribit, have introduced the new improved version of the StormBox Blast 2, which features 200 watts of power and new karaoke functions.
Tribit has recently unveiled the StormBox Blast 2, an upgraded version of its popular rugged portable speaker. This new model stands out with impressive 200 watts of output, an enhanced water and dust resistance rating, and, most notably, the addition of dual karaoke inputs, elevating it to the realm of party speakers.
Compared to the previous model, the StormBox Blast, which had 90 watts of power, the Blast 2 offers a significant boost to 200 watts (180 watts on battery), thanks to the inclusion of five redesigned drivers. This includes an 80-watt woofer, two 45-watt midrange drivers, and two 15-watt tweeters. The technology behind this powerful sound is based on two “advanced Ti amplifiers,” promising a balanced and dynamic sound. To enhance bass quality, the speaker also features passive radiators at each end that improve low-frequency response.
One of the biggest innovations of the Blast 2 is the integration of karaoke functions, aligning it more with party speakers like the JBL PartyBox Stage 320, albeit in a more compact and less powerful format. This speaker includes two 1/4-inch microphone inputs for wired microphones, allowing for duets with friends. Additionally, it accommodates two Tribit wireless microphones, one of which is included with the initial purchase, subject to availability. Each microphone input has independent volume controls, as well as a reverberation effect that can be added.
In terms of connectivity, the Tribit StormBox Blast 2 utilizes Bluetooth 5.4 for easy connection with phones, laptops, and other audio sources for music streaming. It also offers a 3.5mm auxiliary input on the back. Its size has significantly increased compared to its predecessor, measuring 47.5 x 19.3 x 25.4 cm and weighing 9 kg, compared to the 5.4 kg of the previous model. This larger dimension not only impacts its volume but also the light show it offers, as there are LED strips located on the sides that can be controlled and customized through the Tribit app.
Although the Blast 2 has improved its water resistance rating from IPX7 to IP67, battery life remains a robust 30 hours per charge, making it ideal for pool parties or karaoke sessions. As for the price, the Tribit StormBox Blast 2 will be available for $299, with a pre-order offer until October 27 that includes an $80 discount and a free wireless microphone.
