Aqara has unveiled a new range of touch controllers at the CES technology fair in Las Vegas, promising to transform the way we interact with our smart homes, beyond the use of phones or voice commands. The new devices, Panel Hub S1 Plus, Touchscreen Dial V1, and Touchscreen Switch S100, are designed to replace conventional light switches and allow control of both existing circuits and wireless devices connected through the Aqara app.
These touch controllers enable users to adjust lighting, thermostats, blinds, and other devices with just a touch, making them easy to use for anyone in the home. Moreover, both the Panel and the Switch are compatible with Matter devices, featuring six wireless buttons that can be used to control different components.
Aside from these devices, Aqara will also launch new smart switches that do not have screens and connect using Thread or Zigbee protocols. The Aqara Light Switch H2 and Dimmer Switch H2 come in various configurations and do not require a neutral wire to operate. The Light Switch H2 is capable of controlling Aqara's smart lighting products, such as the T1M ceiling light, providing a physical control option without sacrificing the device's smart features. These products are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2025.
The Panel Hub S1 Plus, on the other hand, features a 6.9-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1440 × 720 and can be installed in a conventional switch outlet. This device communicates via dual-band Wi-Fi and can control up to two lights in a wired circuit, including Aqara's smart lights. Its customizable screen allows users to display various widgets to control different connected devices, as well as activate scenes and routines. It can also function as a real-time camera monitor and video intercom for the Aqara G410 doorbell.
The Touchscreen Dial V1 is another release, a compact rotating dial that allows for precise adjustments, such as dimming lights or adjusting temperatures. This device includes a temperature and humidity sensor in addition to a presence sensor for screen activation. The launches of the Panel Hub and Dial V1 are scheduled for Europe later this month and for the United States later in the year.
Finally, the Touchscreen Switch S100 combines physical and digital switches in a single device, providing two buttons and a touchscreen. This switch can control an existing light fixture and also manage devices wirelessly. Although there is no specific launch date yet, the S100 stands out for its combination of compatibility with Thread and Wi-Fi, functioning as an edge router.
Aqara has also revealed new sensors like the Presence Multi-Sensor FP300, which can automatically control lights and operates on batteries, promising up to two years of life with CR2450 batteries. Additionally, the Climate Sensor W100 offers programmable buttons to control connected devices and displays data on temperature and humidity.
Lastly, a new smart home hub, the Hub M100, will be added, enabling the connection of Aqara and third-party devices using Matter, Zigbee, and Thread, establishing itself as an important resource for smart homes.
