The new One UI 7 version from Samsung could adopt a feature from Apple.
The mobile phone sector is on the brink of intense competition in the field of artificial intelligence.
The mobile phone industry is experiencing intense competition in the use of artificial intelligence. With the launch of Apple Intelligence on the iPhone 16 and the impending debut of Samsung's One UI 7 beta, along with the new Pixel devices that feature Google technology, all major manufacturers are aligning to capitalize on this innovative technology.
Recently, details have leaked indicating that Samsung will incorporate a feature similar to Apple Intelligence's notification summary. The information comes from well-known leaker Chun Bhai, who posted on X that the feature is called "AI Notification" and is already being tested in the latest version of One UI 7. Although it is still in the testing phase, it is considered highly likely that it will be available in the final version. According to leaks, this feature may be exclusive to Samsung's flagship models, potentially leaving out mid-range phones, such as those in the Galaxy A series.
So far, Galaxy AI only offers limited summaries for applications like Samsung Notes, without covering text messages or notifications. The introduction of this new functionality would significantly enhance the utility of Samsung phones, following the good performance observed in Apple devices. While Chun Bhai has made several accurate predictions, there is some controversy regarding the validity of this information, although it is noted that the mentioned software version matches a prior confirmation from another more reliable source. However, this source also warned that the release could be delayed until November, or even until 2025.
As artificial intelligence technology advances in mobile devices, many previously exclusive functions are expected to become standards. On the other hand, Samsung has announced the expansion of One UI 6.1.1, allowing more users to access Galaxy AI functionalities like Sketch to, which were initially launched with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 models. This update is expected to reach several other Galaxy series devices starting September 12, including the S23 and S23 FE models.
However, not all news is positive, as there is also information about the indefinite delay of the much-anticipated Android 15 update and the One UI 7 beta. According to leakers IceUniverse and Chun Bhai, there are currently no plans for a short-term release. This delay adds to a series of issues that Samsung has faced, despite some of the new expected features being leaked, including a redesign of the camera interface and new functions inspired by Apple features. This delay follows a previous disruption before the scheduled launch at the end of July, when it was decided to prioritize the public version of One UI 6.1.1 for the Galaxy S24 series.
