The new Harlan Coben series on Netflix, "Missing You," looks like it could become the next big mystery hit after "Fool Me Once."

"Nothing burns like a love from the past."

Harlan Coben has been the author behind numerous successful series on Netflix, based on his mystery and thriller novels. Recently, it was announced that the platform will adapt two more of his books, including "Missing You," a new detective series set in New York City. This series, based on Coben's eponymous novel, will mark the next collaboration between the writer and the popular streaming service, with a premiere scheduled for January 1st of next year.

"Missing You" will be the ninth on-screen adaptation of Coben's works, following hits such as "The Stranger" (2020), "Stay Close" (2021), and "Feel Me Once" (2024). As with his other adaptations, Coben will continue his role as executive producer, working alongside Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, Danny Brocklehurst, and writer Victoria Asare-Archer. Filming began in March of this year in Manchester and the northwest of England, and Netflix has reaffirmed its partnership with Quay Street Productions, who also participated in "Fool Me Once."

According to information from Netflix Tudum, this limited series promises to incorporate Coben's hallmark style, characterized by twists and surprises that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats until the end. Fans won't have to wait much longer to solve the mystery for themselves.

The cast of "Missing You" includes notable names from British television, such as Rosalind Eleazar (Slow Horses), Richard Armitage (Fool Me Once, Obsession), and Sir Lenny Henry (Three Little Birds, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power). Together, they portray the story of NYPD detective Kat Donovan (Eleazar), who, eleven years after the mysterious disappearance of her fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters, Top Boy, Bulletproof), encounters his face again through a dating app, triggering a series of events that force her to confront not only her past but also a mystery related to her father's murder. The discovery of Josh pushes her to unravel dark secrets that pose a disturbing connection between her fiancé's disappearance and her father's death.
