The new art generator for Spotify playlists understands that design is your passion.

An application tool for creating images that does not use artificial intelligence.

Spotify has launched a new option called "Create Cover Art" for playlists, which allows users to create custom collages that represent their playlists. This feature, currently in beta, is available for both free subscribers and Spotify Premium members, and is being rolled out to English-speaking users in 65 markets.

The company has collaborated with well-known artists, such as Ugly Primo, who designed the cover for Bad Bunny's album "Un Verano Sin Ti," and Cey Adams, who has worked on albums and logos for The Notorious B.I.G. and the Beastie Boys. While testing this new feature, I was able to create an image using a photograph I took of an opossum that was lurking outside my son's room one night. The image generator is quite comprehensive, offering layering options, various effects, and the ability to rotate or resize images. However, it is important to note that, as a beta feature, images cannot be edited once saved, nor can drafts be saved.

Unlike YouTube Music's approach, which introduced a similar feature last year using AI with pre-selected themes and elements, Spotify opted for a more interactive experience, allowing users greater engagement through personalized creation. Additionally, the platform has hired artists to design the 40 stickers that can be added to the images.

To access this new feature, you must open a created playlist, select the three-dot button, and then choose "Create Cover Art." You may need to close and reopen the app to see the option.
