The multiplayer game FBC: Firebreak is set to be released in 2025.

Remedy closed the Xbox Partner Preview with the unexpected announcement of FBC: Firebreak, a cooperative game set in the Control universe.

Remedy Entertainment has revealed its first multiplayer game, titled FBC: Firebreak, which will return players to the universe of the Federal Bureau of Control in 2025. It was showcased during the Xbox Partner Preview at the end of October and is an independent experience, not a successor to Control. This game will allow three players to participate in a cooperative PvE first-person mode, where a group of ordinary individuals without supernatural powers will join forces to confront the threat of the Hiss.

Since the protagonists are common people armed with heavy weapons and improvised gear, they will face high-tension situations against the Hiss and other creatures. Although FBC: Firebreak takes place in the world of Control, it will not be necessary to know the background of the game to enjoy it. Thomas Puha, the head of communications, noted that the game is designed to be accessible and enjoyable with friends, featuring dynamic cooperative missions that reflect Remedy's creativity.

For fans of the Control narrative, FBC: Firebreak will offer more information and context about the story. Mike Kayatta, the game director, emphasized that this title will meaningfully integrate into the story of the Control universe, even though its structure did not allow it to be part of previous titles. Additionally, players will be able to explore more of the Federal Bureau of Control and become familiar with its employees and environments, as well as encounter strange events, all from a unique perspective.

In another part of the presentation, Remedy also showcased the first gameplay of The Lake House expansion for Alan Wake 2, which is set in a FBC research station. Unlike FBC: Firebreak, this expansion continues the narrative of Alan Wake 2 and introduces a new playable character, enemies, and an additional weapon.

The studio is committed to its connected universe and continues to work on more projects set in the world of Control, having previously announced the development of two sequels: Heron and Condor, with Heron being conceptualized as a larger-scale title and Condor as a spin-off game.
