The integration of Spotify into Instagram makes it easy to save songs.

You now have the ability to add Instagram songs to your Spotify account with just one click.

The integration between Instagram and Spotify has been enabled, allowing users to save Instagram tracks directly to their Spotify favorites list without having to leave the social media app. This new feature started rolling out globally on October 17 and does not require a Spotify Premium subscription.

With a large number of Instagram users uploading videos daily, many of which are accompanied by music, it can be argued that this social network, owned by Meta, has become one of the main platforms for discovering new music tracks. Although TikTok remains the most popular in this regard, Instagram has made it easier for users to access information about the tracks they hear. Until now, when interacting with a video and tapping the song icon in the corner, users were taken to the song's page, but capturing the name of the track for later listening could be a challenge.

With the new feature, a "Add" button from Spotify has been introduced on song pages. The first time this button is used, users will be prompted to link their Spotify account. Once the connection is made, the user will receive a quick notification that the track has been added to their favorites list. While it is possible to verify that the addition has been made by switching to the Spotify app, it is not necessary, as users can continue browsing Instagram for new tracks to enjoy.

The only aspect that could improve this tool would be the ability to add tracks discovered on Instagram to specific playlists instead of just the general favorites list. Despite this, the new addition is quite practical.

Furthermore, Spotify has recently launched a playlist creation tool using artificial intelligence and has offered a preview of what to expect from this year's Spotify Wrapped. As of July 2024, Spotify had 626 million monthly active users, representing a 14% growth compared to the previous year. Nearly a third of these users have a Spotify Premium subscription.

Spotify offers access to over 100 million songs, 6 million podcasts, and 350,000 audiobooks, establishing itself as a culturally omnipresent music streaming service, with more than 239 million subscribers in 2024, surpassing competitors like Apple Music and Amazon Music. To access the best features of Spotify as a new subscriber, a cost of $12 per month must be paid for an individual membership in the Premium subscription, with additional options for couples, families, and students.
