The improved navigation of Google Maps will help you stay in the right lane.

Google Maps will also include information about crosswalks, traffic signs, and lane restrictions.

Starting next month, Google Maps will implement enhanced navigation features to make driving in urban environments easier. This new system, set to launch in November, will include a blue line on the map indicating the correct lane to use for upcoming turns. Additionally, the map will show elements such as crosswalks, signs, and lane restrictions, helping to reduce the stress of driving in unfamiliar areas. This feature will be available in 30 cities across the United States and can be used on both Android and iOS devices. With this, the expectation is to complement other useful navigation features already offered by Maps, such as lane guidance and 3D route visualization.

Starting this week, Google Maps is also rolling out an update to its “destination guide” feature, which was introduced in July. This improvement will highlight the destination's location and building entrance, as well as show nearby parking, location reminders for cars, and walking directions to the entrance of the place. Additionally, the app will expand its reporting system to include adverse weather conditions that could impact driving, such as low visibility, fog, snow, unplowed streets, or flooding.

In addition to these innovations, Google is incorporating more AI-based features to help users discover new places. Meanwhile, Waze is experimenting with an option that allows users to report incidents using voice commands. In recent months, Google has made other significant changes to Maps, such as using artificial intelligence to summarize reviews about electric vehicle chargers, as well as employing its algorithm to provide recommendations for places to eat and visit.
